My approach to therapy is depth-oriented, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and guided by somatic experience.
All of us have memories, thoughts, and feelings we know about (conscious) and others we don’t know about (unconscious). As a depth psychotherapist, my goal in therapy is to help you shift more of what is unconscious into conscious awareness. Carl Jung described this process as a winding road, a spiral inward, or a hero’s journey.
I deeply believe in the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, and David Grand when it comes to working with trauma. Trusting research in neuroscience, my trauma-informed and somatic approach includes Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
As a mindfulness-based psychotherapist, my approach focuses awareness on and acceptance of the present moment. When we acknowledge and accept our feelings, thoughts, and body sensations, our tendency toward healing is elevated and the quality of our life improves.
