On June 21, 2014 the 3000 Pre-licensed Club gathered at Five Acres, The Boys' and Girls' Aid Society of Los Angeles County, in Altadena, to learn how to maximize internship experiences and prepare for the licensure exams. Maureen Donley, MA, MFT from the Therapist Development Center gave a lively, interactive presentation, covering subjects including supervision, the intricacies of BBS paperwork, and test taking research. Many questions were asked and answered and everyone learned something new.

Susan Lowe, Volunteer Coordinator at Five Acres (and an MFT student at Pacific Oaks) introduced Five Acres, a nationally recognized child and family services agency that strengthens families and prevents child abuse in the greater Los Angeles area. Five Acres offers an array of services including residential care and educational services, mental health services in homes and schools, foster care and adoptions, and domestic violence prevention.

In addition to the morning program, attendees spent time getting to know each other and had an opportunity to share announcements and/or specific professional needs.

Thank you to both Maureen and Susan for spending their Saturday morning with the 3000 Club. Stayed tuned for our next event! A fun Sunday afternoon networking mixer, date TBD in September. If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to contact me.

    Happy July 4th,

    Trevessa Terrile
