Short Description (199 characters max)
Through narrative therapy, I invite my clients to engage in an active, collaborative process. Together, we explore ways to open up possibility and seek to author life stories of hope and resilience.
Description (2950 characters max)
Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, angry or confused. Managing these feelings can be isolating and lonely. I believe that each of us possesses inner strengths, and that a therapeutic partnership can help tap into these resources. Narrative Therapy explores stories: the stories we tell about ourselves, as well as those told to us over time by our families and broader communities. Problematic stories can marginalize our identities. I am passionate about helping clients re-author preferred life stories that allow for change, empowerment, and self-agency. It would be a privilege to accompany you on your journey of reclaiming possibility.

I bring to this practice twelve years of psychotherapy work, 20+ years in the field of education, a strong music and theatre background, and my life experience as a parent and grandparent. Negotiating my own transitions has offered me a special bond with other adults adjusting to life changes.

Specialties: Working with adult clients in stage-of-life transitions, helping them access strengths and resources; exploring issues of grief and loss; using mindfulness to manage feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and anxiety; helping young adults gain confidence in and compassion for themselves as they tackle unsettling and disruptive life events; providing therapy in both English and Hebrew.

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Music: The University of Chicago; Master of Arts in Education: Claremont Graduate School; Master of Arts in Psychology, Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, Postmodern Concentration: Phillips Graduate Institute.

Other Experience: Individual, couples and family therapist at the California Family Counseling Center in Encino, The Saban Free Clinic in Hollywood, private practice in South Pasadena, and group practice in Pasadena at The Institute for Girls' Development; Head of School, Wilshire School in Los Angeles; Head of Lower School, Polytechnic School in Pasadena; composer/creator of a music-based community–building program addressing issues such as bullying and conflict-resolution; classroom teacher in both public and private schools, elementary and secondary; grief and loss group counselor with young children.

Mission: It is my goal to offer a therapeutic partnership in which clients feel safe, respected and supported as they find their own voices. Together, we collaborate on a journey to embrace a greater sense of comfort, joy, and peace.
