PASADENA COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE (PCD) offers this FREE PUBLIC SERVICE to empower couples to make well-informed and effective long-term decisions.

  • Options offered help preserve respect and money.
  • Attendees learn to understand and manage the legal, financial, and emotional aspects of divorce.
  • Topics include: the different divorce options, the pros and cons and relative costs of each, divorce-related terms, and which approach may provide desired outcomes under different financial or interpersonal circumstances.

Few people are actually familiar with all the divorce options, for example:

  • Mediation (Traditional, Co-Mediation or Enhanced)
  • Collaborative Divorce

 Jerry Cohen works exclusively with divorcing individuals and couples to help them reach fair and equitable settlements, without going to court. Jerry has been licensed as a CPA for 34 years, a financial advisor for 25 years, and has worked exclusively as a divorce financial advisor for the past 13 years. Jerry has integrated his experience as a CPA, multi-credentialed financial planner, and Mediator to create a unique process of Collaborative Divorce, for settlement of financial issues.

 Carrie Edwards-Chung has been working with individuals, couples, families, and children for over 13 years. Her specialties include sexual abuse, childhood trauma, marriage crisis, relational problems, life transitions, infants and children, trauma treatment, crisis intervention, grief and loss, blended families, adoption and foster care, and parenting issues. Carrie is certificated in evidence based trauma treatments of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy.  Carrie works as a collaborative divorce coach, a facilitator in the development of parenting plans, a therapeutic visitation monitor, and a parenting coach.

 Jami Fosgate is a Family Law Mediator and Collaborative Law Attorney. Although she initially specialized in high conflict divorce cases,  Jami now devotes her practice to peacemaking and providing affordable divorce solutions. A graduate of Loyola Law School, Jami began practicing law in 2004. Jami is a member of Pasadena Collaborative Divorce (PCD), the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association (LACFLA) and the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA). Jami also volunteers as a mediator for Los Angeles Superior Court.

 Ria Severance  is a collaborative divorce coach, child specialist and co-mediator. In private practice since 1986, she skillfully helps clients envision win-win solutions in challenging circumstances. Using research-based strategies in a warm and nonjudgmental way, Ms. Severance redirects interactions and helps dial down emotions, in a process that helps couples reach an honorable close to their marriage or partnership. Drawing from her experience working with thousands of children and parents, Ms. Severance empowers parents to develop a co-parenting alliance that puts the best interests of the child first, serves the needs of all family members, and helps keep families out of court.

WHERE? Donald E. Wright Auditorium in the Pasadena Central Library, 285 East Walnut Street, Pasadena CA 91101 (across from the courthouse).

PARKING? Attendees are asked to use nearby parking structures, not the limited parking of the library, which is offering the auditorium at no cost.
