This month, we are excited to have Patty Gieselman, Director of Choices Counseling & Skills Center - and SGV-CAMFT chapter member - speak about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). 

Choices describes DBT as "A type of therapy that focuses on skills acquisition, as well as individual therapy . . . DBT treats emotion regulation and focuses on developing or strengthening skills to improve emotional, behavioral and cognitive stability."

About the Speaker

As founder and Executive Director of Choices Counseling & Skills Center, which specializes in DBT, Patty brings exceptional expertise to the use and teaching of DBT. Having worked with all ages in both public and private sectors, in both community-based and residential settings, she has played the role of clinician, consultant, trainer, program director and Vice President of Clinical Services. Ms. Gieselman also currently trains mental health professionals as a provider of continuing education courses.

The Lunch and Learn Speaker Series was created in 2017 in response to feedback from members who participated in our membership opinion survey. Every other month, we gather at the El Portal restaurant in Pasadena's Playhouse District. Each meeting features a 20-25 minute program covering various topics relevant to our profession. During this luncheon, members have the opportunity to socialize and network, promote their businesses and, of course, enjoy a delicious meal.
