Lets Talk about mindfulness.

Mindfulness has become quite a buzzword lately. You might find yourself reading about its efficacy for reducing stress and anxiety. You may have even recommended mindfulness meditation to a client or two. There's probably a meditation app somewhere on your phone (whether or not you're using it!). But how much do you actually use and know about the philosophies and tools that go into a mindful lifestyle?

Mindfulness is, and always has been, a foundational practice in my own self-growth, as well as in my psychotherapy work. I see every day its ability to increase self-awareness, reduce overwhelm and help people develop a greater depth of emotional resilience to life's challenges.

This talk will be inspired by two things: 1) walking your talk and 2) learning easy, tangible tools to start using with clients right away.

For mission #1, we cannot expect mindfulness of our clients if we haven't practiced it ourselves. We wouldn't expect a choreographer to do their job without having been a dancer and, similarly, we should be implementing the strategies we suggest to clients in our daily lives, as well. I'll guide you with some resources in starting this process.

For mission #2, I will share my most often used and most impactful, mindfulness exercises that I use with clients every day, as well as talk about when and how to use them (so you don't feel awkward "trying something you just learned in a training"). We'll even practice a little so we can troubleshoot in the moment.

I'd love for you to join this fun, dynamic talk with space for some guided meditation, embodied learning and all-around good vibes.

I'm Natalie Moore — a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist — and my passion is empowering creative, ambitious millennials to walk through fear and self-doubt, so they can actualize their careers, relationships and the life of their wildest dreams. I do this through a deeply-rooted, relational and somatic approach to healing. When I'm not working, I'm working more, hiking, sleeping in or playing Clue with my partner.

About the Lunch & Learn Program

The Lunch and Learn Speaker Series was created in 2017 in response to feedback from members who participated in our membership opinion survey. Every other month, we gather in Pasadena. Each meeting features a 20-25 minute program covering various topics relevant to our profession. During this luncheon, members have the opportunity to socialize and network, promote their businesses and, of course, enjoy a delicious meal.
