Program Description

Sexuality, a core part of ours and our clients’ identity, is often developed in secret. Sexual energy is an important part of our emotional and mental well being, and when expressed in life-affirming ways, leads to feelings of vitality, confidence and connection. However, 40% of women and 50% of men will have a sexual problem in their lifetime. Our role as therapists is to support clients to keep intimacy alive and navigate upsets, which can go a long way to revitalize the sexless marriage or reconnect the estranged couple.

Goals

To create opportunities where we, as therapists, feel more comfortable initiating conversations about sexuality.

To provide resources to heal shame the largest barrier to sexual fulfillment – through facilitating the client’s development of skills and capacities.

To follow a case involving Premature (Early) Ejaculation and Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder, two of the four issues most commonly seen in our offices.

To provide a plethora of interventions from a Sexual Shame to Sexual Empowerment model that guides clients towards awakening and integrating the authentic, sensual, sexual self.
