Looking for Help

Therapist Finder is a directory of Marriage & Family Therapists who are members of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of CAMFT, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. People looking for help, and their loved ones, are invited to begin their search for a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here.

Choosing a therapist is a personal process, and only the individual client can judge who is the best therapist for them. During the first contact, clients need to get a sense of whether or not this therapist understands them and their struggle, and whether he or she can meet their particular needs. Clients may need to meet with more than one therapist before deciding which one to see.

Dear San Gabriel Valley Members of CAMFT:

I look forward to serving you as President of our chapter and appreciate the many hours that each Board member has committed to sustaining our chapter. We welcome anyone who would like to serve our chapter as we grow and continue to be a supportive association for our profession.

Many of us have websites to expand our visibility to the public. This is important but we must not overlook the value of networking. Life is about connections and we need to stay connected!

In addition to our normal workshops for enrichment and CEUs, Bridget and the Board has established a Monthly Networking Luncheon in Arcadia (see the calendar for further information). These have proven to be quite successful. Now we are adding a Quarterly Saturday Morning Networking Brunch that will include a 30 minute speaker. Our first Saturday Morning Networking Brunch will be October 2, 10:00 am -12:00 noon at Westminster Center. Please feel free to invite any colleagues who are not members of our SGV Chapter. We look forward to seeing you soon and hope you’ll be able to join us at one of these Networking Gatherings.

The San Gabriel Valley Chapter is a professional organization primarily made up of licensed and pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles. Associate members include adjunct professionals such as attorneys and other healthcare professionals who are interested in participating with Marriage and Family Therapists.

The SGV Chapter provides CEUs, networking opportunities, professional development, and community service, as well as actively educating the public about the benefits and ethics of our profession. All prospective members are required to join the State CAMFT in order to join the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of CAMFT. If you are not currently a member in good standing with the state organization, please telephone CAMFT at (626) 350-4400 #51 to request an application, or go to www.camft.org.
